Radiolicious Names Radio Vet T.J. Lambert EVP & COO

by

Radiolicious, a company well know for aggregating radio content on the web and on the iPhone/Ipod Touch, is bringing in some new talent. A radio veteran with a long and proven track record will now be filling the EVP and COO spots, bringing with him a wealth of practical knowledge about our industry.

For those unfamiliar with T.J. Lambert, here is a bit of info drawn from the press release:

Mr. Lambert’s career in media began with on-air duties in both radio and television and includes sales and general management experience at the station and network levels. He served as SVP and General Manager for Drake-Chenault Radio Consultants and helped direct that company’s merger with Jones Satellite Network (now Jones Radio Network). While at Jones, Lambert grew the network to 500 affiliates and developed their sales and marketing teams. He joined ABC Radio Networks in 1993 where his credits include the launch of ESPN Radio and the affiliation and growth of all network properties including ABC News Radio, American Country Countdown with Kix Brooks and The Michael Baisden Show.

Add to that Mr. Lambert’s avowed curiosity about the new media landscape and it looks like a good fit. One of the most important things I think we can do is bring our established and experienced radio veterans together with the new media visionaries. Both sides have a lot to contribute and the evolution of radio will occur inexorably whether they do or not.

I love seeing news like this. I’ve become an avid iPod touch user and am looking forward to trying out the Zune as well because I’m a gadget geek, so anything that can bring more radio content to my iPod is welcome news. I have a feeling that with Mr. Lambert on board at Radiolicious, there will be more on the way.
